As excited as I get when the weekend finally comes, my motivation comes to a screeching halt when I realize that going outside costs MONEY!
Take a peek at these 8 relaxing, no-spend activities you can enjoy during the weekend:
1. Go outside and take a walk in nature.
Visit a local park, walk along a hiking trail, or a beach (if you’re lucky to be near one). Some benefits of being in nature include improving your mood, decreasing stress, and increasing focus.
2. Practice taking photos of yourself.
If you’re already photogenic, this tip isn’t for you. Just kidding! Practice taking photos of yourself. Learn your angles and try out different poses. If you don’t want to photograph yourself, use your phone or camera to take some cool, creative photos around your home or neighborhood. You never know how these pictures can inspire you!

3. Do a Digital Detox Day.
This is a perfect opportunity to unplug from non-stop distractions. Take this day to focus on yourself instead of other people.
4. Organize a Themed Potluck.
Instead of spending money, get creative and gather items already in your fridge or pantry for a good ol’ potluck! Tell your friends that come over to do the same. As a bonus, turn your potluck into a game night afterward.
5. Take a tour of your town.
It’s always fun being a tourist in your own town. Look up local historical landmarks or public monuments. Many cities offer free historical walking tours or even self-guided explorations.
6. Time for a Pamper/Maintenance Day.
Slather on a DIY or store-bought skincare mask, clip those too-long toenails, take an “everything shower” and/or relax with a soothing bubble bath.

7. Volunteer or Donate.
One of the best feelings for me is being able to give back. Check out your local charities, soup kitchens, youth programs, or other organizations to help out where you can.
8. Update your Quarterly Vision Board.
No need to buy magazines, and do the old-school cut-out and gluestick method. Instead, create a vision board right on Canva using your saved pins on Pinterest. This method will allow you to keep track of your progress every 3 months, and you can add a few more goals to the board. Gotta keep dreaming!
No-spend weekends can be a challenge at first. But the more you do it, the easier it will be to focus on saving money for your bigger goals.
Have you been successful doing no-spend weekend? If not, what is stopping you from trying it?
